Pigeon Removal

Pigeon Problems? If your business has a growing population of pigeons it is imperative that you begin a pigeon removal program before the birds take over and cause significant damage and costs.

Meridian Bird Removal offers pigeon removal services.

Pigeon Removal Service

Meridian Bird Removal started out as “Meridian Wildlife Removal” (read our history here). As the name indicated, we used to catch all manner of critters. But we soon saw a need and focused on birds, and we became the bird removal experts – as far as we know the only national company that only handles bird problems. That focus and passion continue to this day, and we are continuously looking to improve and expand our services – as long as they involve birds. So we are pleased to introduce our new pigeon removal service.

Pigeons Cause Problems

Pigeons are a flock animal which can rapidly grow to large numbers due to the fact they breed all year round. Their droppings are amazingly corrosive, and they mature to reproducing age quickly.

They can carry 50+ parasites and diseases, and they love sheltered overhangs that remind them of cliff nooks, their natural roost. The result is a prolific, ever-expanding population that loves urban environments and man-made structures – structures that suffer mightily because of them.

One customer had to rip out a building’s insulation because pigeons had gotten into the walls. A Division I university was plagued by hundreds of pigeons who were roosting (and defecating) on their state-of-the-art stadium scoreboard. Something had to be done!

Our Pigeon Removal Phased Approach

We developed a three-phase system for how to get a pigeon out of a building to trap pigeons and get them away from buildings.

  • Phase 1 is an assessment. We conduct an on-site inspection of your entire facility to study the problem. This allows us to report on the number of pigeons and the problems they pose, along with our recommended course of action. We deliver a detailed report including your customized proposal, best practices, and what you can self-implement.
  • Phase 2 involves getting the problem “under control.” The quotation marks remind us and our client that no solution is permanent, but we do aim to reduce a problem pigeon flock by 80-90%. Our patented netting system won’t work on large populations of outside birds, so we stage traps and “train” birds to enter them. (And our parents told us those Bird Psychology classes were useless!) This phase is typically 3-5 weeks in duration.
  • Phase 3 is maintenance. We schedule inspections at regular intervals. We monitor the site to report updated pigeon numbers and take action as needed. This includes additional removals if pigeons show up again.

Less Costly than Building Repairs

At Meridian, we are fascinated by birds. But pigeons, with their exploding numbers, fast reproduction rates and toxic hygiene, just don’t mix with human habitation. They are a real health hazard, they create nasty messes, and they destroy buildings and property. Our pigeon removal service is a proactive, effective way to remedy the pigeon scourge before they cost you money and headaches. It’s certain to be less expensive than ripping out walls or buying a new scoreboard. To learn more about Meridian Bird Removal’s pigeon removal services, give us a call or contact us. We’d love to help you combat these avian annoyances.
