PARTNER
Leading global package delivery service
-
The company’s Seaford, Delaware, facility had dealt with birds invading from a nearby field for years. This was Meridian’s first partnership with the company.
OBJECTIVE
Meridian needed to remove a large number of birds who had taken up residence inside the facility.
- These birds had built nests and left droppings on delivery trucks, causing damage to packages, delaying deliveries, and threatening the company’s sterling image.
- The company determined exclusion netting was cost-prohibitive.
SOLUTION
Meridian team captured 40 birds over an 8 hour period.
- After the trucks left on their daily routes, Bird Removal Technicians (BRTs) Kristina and David identified the flight paths of birds leaving to forage outside.
- They set up Meridian’s patented capture system, catching and removing birds as they flew into the netting.
- The BRTs were able to work steadily over the next eight hours while the facility remained open. This is much longer than a typical service call, but warranted given the number of birds.
RESULTS
The successful removal of all birds resulted in a cleaner, healthier workspace, plus a new partnership.
- The BRTs determined the facility was bird-free, conducted a site inspection, and offered recommendations.
- The satisfied partner expressed their desire to have Meridian return for regular bird removals and inspections.
