Christmas is still on our minds, and with it a feeling of profound gratitude. 2022 marked another landmark year for Meridian Bird Removal. We remain one of the fastest-growing bird removal companies in the nation, serving all fifty United States, and its territories.
To better serve all our awesome customers, we are hiring more Bird Removal Technicians! One of the things that makes Meridian so successful is our people, and with that in mind, we’d like to call out two facts that distinguish our recruiting process.
First, everyone who works here is an employee. We do not outsource work or use contractors. We feel this is important to maintain the level of training and service our customers expect.
Training starts the moment we hire using our copyrighted training materials. In-person training takes place on the job with one of our trainers. As a trainee, you are taught the basics of how to identify and capture birds. Additional training includes our service software, company communication, store interactions, how to perform our full facility inspection, and nest removal. Once you have completed our basic training, you will be eligible to transition to a Bird Removal Technician Level 1. From here, the learning never stops. As our Director of Operations likes to say, we are “always training,” working to get better.
The most important difference between Meridian and general wildlife controls is that we’ve developed a process and system that is scalable and we can consistently train technicians. Whereas the experience and talent wildlife control specialists will vary by market, we have worked very hard to standardize our service levels. This allows each Bird Removal Technician (BRT) to deploy quickly to his or her area and assess the situation. They learn the different bird species and how they interact with environments. Of course, our more experienced BRTs have an edge. But Meridian’s training and system is modeled to ensure success for every customer—or you don’t pay.
Second, we have an involved and rigorous hiring process—not just anyone can become a Bird Removal Technician! We can train people on capturing birds, but an attention to customer service and personal interaction is what makes a Technician successful. Customer testimonials don’t lie—it’s the dedication and attitude of our people that have brought us where we are today.
Because Meridian charges a flat fee for removal, we have no incentive to sell additional services. We are there to remove the bird and let you get back to business! Our service model is based not on upsells, but on our core value of Customer First. This means we prefer to provide expertise in hardening your building against more bird intrusions—even if it means fewer calls for us.
So if you know someone who loves adventure and strives to be above the bar, we’d love to hear from them. The way Meridian is growing, we will need as many eagerly optimistic and humbly confident people as we can hire. And to our amazing customers, thank you for another banner year!
