We believe that Meridian Bird Removal is about stewardship. We’ve been blessed with the inspiration to develop a one-of-a-kind service, and we’ve grown by how this service solves problems for our customers. It has provided for the needs of a growing number of our employees across the country, and we believe that we are called to give back to the communities we serve as we’ve prospered.
A part of that is the community of customers and fans who are interested in what we do, and follow our activities online and in social communities like Facebook and LinkedIn. This holiday season, we’re giving that platform to non-profit organizations that are wholly dedicated to making a difference in our community.
We are in the bird removal business to help others. We hope that one of these organizations moves you to help or to give what you’ve been blessed with this Christmas. Or, if you are interested in help for your organization as we continue to grow, please let us know at nobirds@meridianbirdremoval.com.

Agape Center has grown from a simple food pantry and clothing closet to a large multifaceted ministry that serves upwards of 3,000 individuals each month. The Center serves the entire New River Valley, which includes the counties of Giles, Floyd, Montgomery, Pulaski and the City of Radford.
We do not require proof of income or an appointment for first-time visitors. If you plan to come during our hours of operation, just bring a valid ID. Our volunteers are trained and ready to offer a helping hand up to anyone in need.
How you can help

- Regular food pick-ups from local grocery stores
- Help in clothing first and third Fridays when we are open

About an hour and a half off the coast of Florida lies the Dominican Republic. It’s known for its beautiful Caribbean landscape as a popular tourist destination, but it’s also full of people struggling to make it each day.
Many Dominicans live on less than $2 a day. With severely limited resources, many go without meals, new clothes, or education. These vulnerabilities leave people desperate for work that will provide money, but it’s hard to secure a job without an education. Too often that’s when human traffickers come in. As is true with any tourist destination, there’s a demand for exploitation of young boys and girls. Some of these children are lured into the industry by promises of a better life, and some choose to do it themselves because they feel they have no other choice.
At The CUPS Mission, we know each person has inherent worth because they were created in the image of God. We strive to come alongside children in the Dominican to share the love of Jesus with them, provide for basic needs and education, serve them, and empower them to choose a vocation that they desire for their lives. We want to give them all the resources they need to build a life they dream of and prevent them from having to choose sexual exploitation due to a lack of other choices.
Your partnership with CUPS Mission gives a child their humanity back. You’re empowering them to choose what they want to do with their life. You’re giving them food and education, but you’re also giving them the ability to dream and work toward creating a better world.
How you can help
From November 1 through December 31, we run our Year End Giving Campaign. You and I can’t be physically present with hurting families and children every day. But Jesus can—through you. Give the gift of transformation for a child in the Dominican Republic this Christmas. These children have come to know that God is with them, because of the significant contribution of partners like you. There are more children who need to experience the presence of Christ.
You can make that possible with a special year-end gift or by joining our monthly support team. Learn more at http://cupsmission.com/christmas-tree-gifts.

At the Community Foundation of the New River Valley (CFNRV), our mission is to encourage charitable giving, nurture collaboration, and invest in lasting solutions that enhance the quality of life for all in the New River Valley. We help individuals, families, and businesses create and sustain a vibrant, supportive community, now and for generations to come. Because we make it our business to understand the needs of our community, we are able to match our donors’ unique interests, ideas, and passions with the charitable organizations making a positive impact in our region every day.
Since beginning our work in 1994, the CFNRV has worked with donors to create more than 200 endowed funds that support nonprofit organizations and students in our community each year through grants and scholarships. In total, we have given out $7,900,000 in grants and scholarships. In addition to this work, we convene nonprofit, government, business, and community leaders to identify and understand our community’s challenges, develop long-term solutions, and provide start-up and ongoing financial and in-kind support. We build the effectiveness and capacity of our nonprofit leaders by providing technical support and professional development opportunities. All of this work supports our vision of a productive, healthy, and vibrant New River Valley.
Each year, we host the annual online GiveLocalNRV Giving Day, where nonprofit partners serving the NRV register with us and collectively we raise money and awareness for our missions. For our 10th anniversary this year, 115 organizations participated, and we raised a grand total of $921,648.
Throughout each year, we give out grants to nonprofit partners. Some grants are awarded through our competitive grants process, which any nonprofit serving the NRV can apply for.
As a part of our capacity-building work, we bring together organizations and individuals around different issue areas to work together via networks (food access/security, early childhood education and care, aging in community, and nonprofit leadership). Our network focused on early childhood education/care is called First Steps. One thing this network does annually is give out monetary awards to “Early Childhood Champions.”
Through the generosity of many donors, in 2024 the Foundation will give out more than $100,000 in scholarships to New River Valley students. The CFNRV’s scholarship application is open to high school students planning to pursue a degree or currently in school at 2- or 4-year colleges or universities as well as trade or technical schools. Older adults returning to school are also welcome to apply. Since issuing its first scholarship in 2002, the foundation has awarded $1,334,454.70 to more than 1,100 students. While there are dozens of CFNRV funds set up to fund scholarships each year, applicants only need to submit a single application to the foundation and indicate the scholarships for which they would like to be considered. Scholarships application opens on Monday, October 2, with a deadline of Monday, January 29.

Young Life’s mission is to introduce adolescents to Jesus and to help them grow in their faith. For us that doesn’t start with an event, but with relationships. Since Young Life came to the NRV we’ve been about training and equipping adults to walk into the world of kids and building friendships with the hope of earning an ear for the Gospel.
As Young Life expanded, we split into two separate areas. NRV Young Life focuses on Montgomery County and Giles County. RPC Young Life focuses on Radford City and Pulaski County.
How you can help
We have many events in both areas. Outreach events, which we call Young Life Club, are every week at most schools where we have ministry. Campaigners, which are small group Bible studies, also are weekly at most schools. The best way to get connected is to reach out to one of our Area Directors to see how to get connected to a specific school.

These are just five of the organizations Meridian Bird Removal supports. Please consider supporting these organizations as well. As we grow, we will be on the lookout for other partner organizations in new communities we serve—ones with similar core values, but most of all the drive to Help First.
