Nationwide home and garden retailer
-
This was Meridian’s second visit to the Palmdale, CA, location of this national home and garden store. During the first visit, Meridian recommended keeping roll-up doors closed and cleaning spilled birdseed.
OBJECTIVE
Remove pigeons and advise on reducing their numbers.
-
During the first visit seven months prior, Meridian removed 52 birds who were devastating inventory and leaving droppings.
-
Meridian advised closing doors that led to the exterior garden area and immediately cleaning up droppings and spilled seed.
-
On this visit, Meridian found many fewer pigeons, but observed that the exterior garden door remained open.
SOLUTION
Meridian removed pigeons, nests, and eggs, and also
emphasized keeping doors closed.
-
The store made concerted efforts to clean up nests and droppings. They also took Meridian’s advice and sealed off some gaps where pigeons roosted inside.
-
The store’s employees assisted Meridian in locating a total of 12 pigeons and three pigeon eggs. These were promptly removed.
-
Meridian performed an exterior inspection, but found no birds.
RESULTS
Meridian confirmed no pigeons were present.
-
After a five-hour visit and inspection, Meridian declared the store pigeon-free.
-
Meridian reiterated the need to keep doors to exterior spaces closed at all times and to clean up spilled birdseed promptly. The customer saw how sealing gaps and removing pigeon nests quickly led to a substantial reduction in pigeon incursions.
