Global consumer snack food producer
- A distribution center in Austin, Texas, called Meridian after struggling to pass a sanitation and safety audit. The Austin site manager referred Meridian to other company facilities in Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma.
OBJECTIVE
For all locations, capture and remove birds to maintain a clean, safe, bird-free interior.
-
The Austin location had numerous deterrents (lasers, owl effigies) in place, but these did not keep nuisance birds away.
-
The Midland, TX, location reported having to destroy whole pallets of chips destroyed by birds, causing them to also fail the audits.
- Traditional pest control companies had tried to help these and other locations rid them of birds without success.
SOLUTION
Meridian performed inspections and deployed the patented Bird-N-Free system at all locations.
-
Meridian dispatched different teams to the disparate locations. Each performed a thorough inspection. (The cost of the inspection is credited against removal services if needed.)
-
The Austin location thought they had only 2 or 3 birds. The technicians captured eight. In Midland, Meridian removed 29 birds.
RESULTS
The distribution centers were bird-free and ready to pass their audits.
-
Word quickly spread after the Austin and Midland service calls. In a short period of time, Meridian teams, some involving three technicians, deployed to locations all across the region.
-
Meridian is thrilled to have gained the confidence of this exciting new partner.
According to a 2011 report, the financial impact of remediating audit failures in food industries can exceed
$30
million
