Meridian helps food manufacturing facility avoid costly shutdown

OBJECTIVE

 Birds created a “high alert” situation, shutting down one production area and threatening others.

• Following their internal process, the facility first attempted to flush the bird out themselves.
• They then tried to contact a shooting team. They were unavailable.
• The facility manager called Meridian. We arrived in three hours.

SOLUTION

Two Bird Removal Technicians (BRTs) deployed the patented Bird-N-Free system to capture the birds within two hours.

• Due to the flexibility and mobility of the capture system, the BRTs were able to work around areas the customer asked us to avoid. These areas were off-limits due to food safety concerns and sensitive trade secrets.

RESULTS

Within 5–6 hours from the call, Meridian had the facility bird-free. Production resumed the same day.

• Meridian performed a post-service inspection on the sprawling facility.
• The customer appreciated Meridian’s humane capture approach.
• The same customer had another emergency the following week. They called Meridian, and we captured the bird in approximately one hour.
